Will using an electric pedal bike help lose love handles?
I’m going to start eating MUCH better starting tomorrow when I go grocery shopping too. Im starting to do sit ups, push ups and more stretches at night too. We have an electric bike in our basement that I can use. I need to tone my legs so i will probably use it for at least that. Will using the bike help my love handles too? What else can a bike help?
GUYS. I appreciate the advice but the electric pedal bike doesnt do anything its ME PEDALING THE BIKE. Its the exact same as riding a real bike. Its only electric by telling how many calories i have burned etc…IT DOESNT PEDAL FOR ME!!!! That would be so STUPID! I’m not stupid or fat. I can ride my bike miles, i dance every day for and hour and fifteen minutes.
It’s the quality of the exercise you do that makes the difference. An exercise bike is a good solid cardio workout that will use slightly different muscles than your dancing. It will help tone your legs and lower back. This along with a proper eating program will help you achieve your goals.
I applaud your desire to mix up your workouts. This will help prevent both boredom and leveling out on progress. These in addition to calisthenics will be real keys to success. Some people get great results with weights. This is optional, but it does work. BTW, chin-ups are better exercise for your abs than crunches because almost everyone does crunches incorrectly. Chin ups use even more muscles than crunches and prevent bad form. Use a foot on a chair if necessary for the extra help.
Best of luck!
No, you need manual power. All manual power. You do all the work yourself.
Lose ‘love handles’ on an electric bike…I doubt it. A bicycle already is a mechanical device used to aid the rider in going faster than walking and/or running. And then you want more help with an electric motor? Sorry to sound so cynical… If you are grossly over-weight (as I was) get a quality bike meant to handle the weight. Write these two items down to remember. A cassette rear hub vs. a freewheel hub. And double walled rims vs. single walled rims.
This is the best set up possible both for longevity & to handle the load. I own a 2008 Raleigh Hybrid with over 1,200 trouble free miles on it. I no longer have a car as I can’t afford one anymore. So, most of those miles were put on during this past year alone – after losing the car.
Start slowly exercising. Don’t kill yourself at first. The main thing is to set up a schedule & stick with it. Build gradually. Don’t expect instant results in 2 – 3 months. I’ve lost about 60 lbs. in a year & still have some more to go. It takes time… The weight goes off a lot slower than it goes on. Get a really good Hybrid and/or Comfort bike. Leave the electric bike at home – or sell it. Some links below similar to my bike…
Yes… Using the bike will help you burn calories.
Stationary bikes can be very very boring. In the winter I like to put a TV in front of the bike and either watch the "Travel Channel" or a spin class DVD, I think you can find the "Johnny G Spinning" DVDs for a few bucks on ebay these days. I also like to have a small fan that blows at me so I don’t drip sweat all over the bike. For the maximum effect make sure you mix it up, alternating hard and easy.
