Bad news, you are not going to find "Cheap Insurance" an 18 year old who wants to insure either an R6 or R1 and has no prior riding experience, you are a high risk.
lets say that you buy the bike for $6.000.00 and your insurance is $3.000.00 that is $9.000.00 for your first year.
That is a lot of cash for a college student.
If you choose a non sport bike you can cut your insurance by about 33% but it will still be high because of your age.
Good Luck
Ive had several over the years, If you want liability only check with GIECO and Progressive. They are the cheapest. But I have found that online quotes are higher so if you get an online quote Afterwards call the company and tell them you want the very cheapest your state allows.
For me my online quote was $189 per year . After i called them they took off some extras i didn’t really need and i got it for $79 per year. (yes $110 difference)
listen to me!
you have 2 things going against you
the cost of motorcycle insurance is going to be high cause you’re young and you want a crotch rocket, a bike that can almost go 200 mph!
first get a normal bike like a 650-750cc cruiser the cost to insure those bikes would be much less
next get a bike cheap enough that you can pay for it without a loan so you don’t need full coverage
keep your credit rating good and keep your driving record good, no speeding and no drinking and driving.
note: full insurance coverage for ur age and on a R6 or an R1 can easily be $3000
Progresive or Dairyland are good companies and for get riding a play race bike ( Crotch Rocket) and get a standard or a cruiser.
Insurance is a rip off if you are financing the bike but either way AAA or THE AUTO CLUB is cheapest.
I have a zx10 and pay less than $200, not a month, but a year.
But I own the pink so its cheaper see. But if you are financing then its a rip off. Go to site below, click YELLOW subscribe button and get free updates, its all free with video audio.
