Where to land in Darwin?
Hi .. I am a new Australian Permanent Resident and am planning in settling in Darwin with my family of 4. Few questions if anyone can kindly help with.
1. Which areas are cheap to get a place to get on rent for .. e.g a 2 bedroom apartment.
2. Any Muslim / Islamic schools in Darwin ? If yes, then kindly share their neighbourhood / suburb names.
3. I am planning on doing Masters from Charles Darwin Univ. partime and do work for a living part time .. is it workable ? considering the job market.
4. What is the best way to travel cheap in Darwin ? motor bikes ? cars ?.
5. Any known motor cycle / car used dealers / markets ?
Thanx in advance.
look on the internet use Google, yellowpages

that hyperlink has some information for you.
Darwin is a very seasonal place so it depends what work you are looking at.
Charles Darwin Uni is in the northern suburbs close to Alawa, Nakara, Casuarina, Wagaman and many other suburbs. Have a look at Google map.
Darwin does not have heavy traffic and is relatively compact – there is a bus terminal in the city and at Casuarina.
Rentals in Darwin are quite expensive – check out the rental tab on realestate.com.au – city and close suburbs are more expensive than near the Uni.
You can buy cheaper vehicles off backpackers who have used them to travel around the country before heading back home overseas.
There is some info on http://www.ntnews.com.au but not a lot.
