whether you like it or not you cant get insurance on your own in usa/you need to get insurance under your parents/been a rider since i was 14 and things have been changing because youngys are irresponsible and go splat at alarming rate
There is no common rate – it depends on your location and a multitude of other things. It’s best to call around to different insurance agents and get quotes, assuming that there are any that will even insure you on a motorcycle at 16.
In Canada, you are able to get insurance but the rates are nuts. I got my first bike when I was 16. I rode a CBR 125r and the insurance was something crazy like $2800 a year at first. Make sure you have your g2 or the insurance will be even higher. I got quoted $8000 last year when i was 17 on an 09 gsxr-600. Riding motorcycles are alot of fun and i do recommend it, but only if you’re willing to fork up the money like i was.
In case you’re wondering the bike is now sold due to the extremely high insurance and a car has now been purchased.
You must do what we all have to do….. Call around for quotes. It is the only way
