It’s ,500 +taxes.
I can buy a car with that, a descent car, should I get the motorcycle instead?
Please, help me on this.
I’m 17 and a new rider I have ,000 and a job to pay for it. I will only have to get the liability insurance only and it’s the cheapest insurance there is.
Plus, I can get my parents to put me on their insurance and I have good grades.
I will only have insurance for 6 months only not a year.
I will only ride to school and to work only.
Is the Ninja 250 worth it? ,500 for the 2008 model.
Please explain.
Lol, 3500 IS cheap for a motorcycle. I just paid 5K for a nice 250cc scooter.

I will say it again-the bike is a great bike for you. Even with the proper gear-full face helmet, jacket, gloves and boots, you will still have to have a motorcycle license and motorcycle insurance. Sadly if you finanace the bike that means full coverage which will cost a young male such as yourself about as much for a year as what the bike did. If you buy the bike outright then you only have to legally carry liability insurance which covers damage you DO to OTHERS property but does not cover your motorcycle for repairs or yourself if you and the bike go down in an accident.
First off, my attorney reamed me one day for not carrying uninsured/ under insured coverage, and in retrospect he was right.
UM/UIM insurance is expensive, but if you don’t have it you are betting that someone else took out the higher policy limit insurance that you refused. I was in an accident – other drivers fault and i didn’t have UM/UIM. I was in the hospital for three hours. $13,500. His policy limit was $15,000. I’m sure glad I didn’t have to spend the night! The rest would have come from my pocket!
High limits are not that much more. You should consider them.
It is called a cheap motorcycle because it is. A lot of teenagers who do not know one end from the other got them because they are cheap.

No you can’t. You can get a used car on it’s last legs. The bike is new and it you take halfway reasonable care it will be good for 100,000 miles.
17, buy a car. Get a bike later at 22 & up.
If weather is good where you love, get the bike. I own a 2008 ninja 250 for 4000 dollars out the door. I get 80+ mpg when riding conservativly, can split lanes through traffic, and of course, look cool. true you can get a car for that price but its the difference between a brand new off the lot machine that looks cool and is fun, and a reliable lame lookin volvo.
My insurance as a new rider is 189 dollars a year, with my good grade discount on my parents plan, and its the liability only.
If you want a brand new machine that will look cool and last long, go for the bike. If you want practiality (except mpgs) go for the car.
one more thing, all maintenance on this bike can be done by an inexperienced owner with the tool kit that comes with the bike.
