Im joing the army and want a motorcycle to make it back and forth. I dont have alot of money and im looking for a cruiser type motorcycle. My top pick would be a honda nighthawk 450 but they stopped making them in ‘89 and i guess they’re pretty hard to find. I need something cheap and medium sized, in the 400-500 cc range becuase of prolonged long distance travel. Also cheap to find used, but looks badass to.

What brands and makes should i go for that make 400-500cc, cheapeast to find used?
a fair pricec for a 82′-89′ honda nighthawk?
Also whats a rough quote for motorcycle insurance for a 17 year old male?

I’m finally considering it, but I’d like some opinions and some Advise. I already have a car aka a Mitsubishi Gallant 2000 ES with a V6 that does about 30mpg. I’m considering getting a Motor Scooter for my shorter distance trips and regular commuting trips with using the car for long distance commutes and dates (lol) untill something like the Carver One or Venture One comes to my state (Florida). I’m looking for something that does about 90mpg. Here are a few questions I have about scooters:
1. For these 90mpg vehicles, how large is the tank?
2. How fast do these vehicles normally go (I’m no motor head so I couldn’t tell you the difference between a 2 stroke 50cc and a 2 stroke 150cc)
3. Is it a viable long lasting solution regardless of where gas prices may lead?
4. What’s the general perception of people riding them now addays? It used to seem and look rather stupid years ago…
5. Will the price of maintenance = the amount I saved for gas with these vehicles? Or are they relatively low maintenance?

Basically I’d really use it to get to work (about a 15min drive from where I live), and go to a couple stores I normally go to in my area, with limited trips to Hallendale or Miami beach (about 30 to 45 min away).

I’m going to be going to college in Lima, Ohio and will be driving back to michigan every couple of weeks. I have a truck that sucks gas so I am going to buy a bike. Either an 98′-05′ Yamaha YZF R6 or R1 I haven’t decided yet. I was wondering who has the cheapest insurance for what I’m doing with the bike. Basically driving it long distance and to class every so often. It will be stored in my apartment down there whenever I’m not driving it. Can anyone help me out. I know I’m a little young for any kind of cheap insurance but maybe there is a company out there that gives breaks to college students? Well anyway the main question is : From your experiences which company has the cheapest motorcycle insurance?

Im looking into getting some sort of scooter or moped or Vespa to drive around town and to work every day.
My question is - the wheels seem small. Is it hard to steer and drive?
What are you experiences with them? Like them or not? Its not for long distance drives, only to work and market. I work about 3 miles from home.

I would like to buy an easy riding machine for my boyfriend that we can ride on long distance trips that will not hurt my back. I had back surgery and need to be careful of back fatigue. Can you suggest the best model for us? He is an experienced rider but I am not.H ELP!

I want something highway legal because I will be transferring schools soon and need to go to and from. I am a resident of Georgia. I will be using my car only for long distance trips probably. I really like the classic designs like the Genuine Scooter, Stella. I need to know if I need a motorcycle license and roughly how much insurance is (or at least where to find good quotes).
