it has to be under 200$. i wanted a gas powered bike that was 350$ but my mom said that it would go to fast or something stupid like that and im gonna be riding in the street because i live on a main road. i want one of those electric bikes that are kind fast. does anyone know where i can get a good one?
Obviously there is an energy and economic crises developing in our country. And gasoline is over a gallon and still climbing. Is anyone in the New York state government doing anything to try to legalize the use of electric bikes on public streets and roads?

We require e-bikes Electric Bikes, both Mountain and City E-bike versions with both 24V 10Ah or 36V 10Ah Li-ion battery packs Only, they also must feature a locking device, and the electric bikes must also be high quality products, must be a professional supplier for replacement parts as-well.
We require the best specifications higher mileage electric bikes at least 45km on pure electric mode and 65km pedaling assist mode.
then what currently is being sold in the market.
Please do not contact us with your Wal-Mart quality products, we want high quality goods only please. We seek Shimano parts, Aluminum alloy parts also.

Ever since i ridden on one of my grandparents little scooter, which has 3 wheels and runs on electricity i was hooked. it felt like one of those rides in a disney theme park, everything i saw at my parents farm looked so much better and entertaining, just like when you see the pirates of the carribean on that little boat. i ridden on it for about 20 hours all together and wasnt bored once, but that goes the same for the first time i driven a car which got boring after a couple of months. i wanted to get a scooter for the fresh air and feel like im helping out the envirement. but then i heard most scooters are bad for the envirement and pollute more then most cars. so i looked into electric bikes and havent heard much on that, i saw it on the news and been interested ever since. Are electric bikes any good?
I’m interested in purchasing an electric bicycle but I read the following on wikipedia:
Electric Bicycles in Hawaii are considered a Illegal motorized vehicle
"Bicycle" [4] means every vehicle "propelled solely by human power" upon which any person may ride, having two tandem wheels, and including any vehicle generally recognized as a bicycle though equipped with two front or two rear wheels except a toy bicycle. [43]
However…. they have at least 10 different stores dedicated to selling electric bicycles and I see people riding around with them all the time, and it there was a new story regarding one of the stores promoting the use of electric bikes/scooters as alternate transportation. Any help would be nice.
Specific as in how? I’m just wondering if I can ride an electric bicycle in the state of hawaii legally, like I said they have many dealers here and I see everyone riding them plus you can rent them, just regular bicycles with motors (max speed is like 15-20mph), however everyone claims they are illegal.
in tonights episode of the amazing race they were in china and at one point they had to ride these electric bicycles through beijing, i googled it but all i found were inferior looking electric bikes or kits you have to build yourself, can anyone tell me more info about the bikes from tonights episode and a website where i can get one? thanks
i really just want to know about the specific chinese bikes i saw on the show, if anyone saw the show and knows about them let me know
I am interested in buying an electric bike that has 2 batteries that opperate at 12v @ 10 amp hours. They are designed to work together to deliver 24v to a 450 watt (peak) motor at the front wheel. Unfortunately these are heavy SLA batteries, and I would like to replace them with state of the art Nanophosphate Litihium Ion batteries.
Now the kicker: I can only find 36v versions for use in DeWalt power tools (though they are very energy dense).
So what I am wondering is if I can buy 2 / 4 of these and wire them to deliver no more than 36v continuous to the 24v motor and will it improve performance or just burn up the components.
Also as an added question, if it is not possible to run 36 volts directly is there a controller that could accomplish this.
Thanks!
The motor is from Currie Technologies, specialists in electric bikes.
I should add that the motor is DC as will be the current delivered to it.
are they allowed to ride the electric bikes legally in california sacramento?
I am looking to get an electric bike conversion kit for my mountain bike or to get a new electric bike itself. My current bike is a 21 speed Diamondback with a child seat attached behind the seat. I am looking to convert it into something I can still use as a mountain bike if I get a kit (i.e. on rough trails), otherwise I will either get a new electric or mountain bike on its own in order to offset any effect on its usefulness. I live in the mountains and there are a lot of variable grades on the roads here. I am looking for something that will allow me to easily commute over hills, etc. and yet also (if possible) offer the ability to use my own power in order to continue having the fitness benefit. I want to be able to use it to take my son to and from school and myself to work on a daily basis, so cargo space and less weight might also be a plus. Does anyone have any recommendations on electric bikes or conversion kits that might suit my needs?
Thanks so much.
i don’t understand where electric bikes can be driven. here is the link of the law.

Own electric bikes or electric scooters (under 750 watts only)? If so, how many miles (kilometers) did you get out of a set of batteries before you had to buy replacements? Also, what TYPE (sealed lead acid, NiMH, Lithium Ion) was it?
One electric bicycle retailer claims that ebike owners get 3 years from a battery pack. Is this true? I’ve heard from two large electric motorcycle (60V) owners who alleged that they got only 600 kms. use out of their batteries.
Also, has anybody rejuvenated their electric bike or scooter batteries, like this electric pickup truck? (link below)

I’m a girl who would like to edit her current bike to make an electric bike (because who is anyone kidding, most of the electric bikes are catered to men.) Does anyone know of a free online source that goes through the step by step process of building an electric bike?
PS. Made from scratch kits are okay too
I really like the Schwinn electric bikes (Continental etc), but I was wondering if someone knew of a cheaper alternative. I don't think I want the SLA battery packs. I would like a smaller and lighter alternative and have a decent range (20 miles or more). I would even consider doing a bike conversion if I could have newer lighter equipment
