I’m getting my license for cars soon (hopefully), but I would much rather drive a scooter because they are cheaper, easier, and more fun. However, I can’t drive it in the winter and my parents are nervous because scooters are more dangerous than cars. How can I convince my mom it is not a dumb idea?Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hi all I am considering buying a moped but was wondering if it is legal to ride it on a bypass with a max speed of 60/70 ?

I am unsure althouth I have seen Bicycles !!? using this bypass before…

is this legal ?

for
a) a 50cc moped to be used on the bypass

and

b) a bicycle to be used on a bypass?
Well I know that you can use a 50cc moped on normal roads where cars are allowed. but what Im asking is about on BYPASS roads only (I assumed ou could not ride your bike or moped n the bypass but I have seen a few people doing this before - just curious )

I’m trying to compare costs of cars and bikes to see whether I should get a motorbike, or save up for a car. Does anyone have a good estimate to how much a used motorbike would usually cost?

In addition, I only ever ride my bicycle on the pavement/side walk shared by pedestrians; the only time I go on the road is when cross the lights for pedestrians.

Is it really necessary for commuters to wear a bike helmet. I just find it unnecessary to wear helmets on the street because the chances of collision and injury are a lot less than on the road, and I question the compulsory bike helmet laws.

If wearing helmets is mandatory, why don’t we make the inclusion of airbags mandatory for all cars as well then?

I have an Invacare Storm TDX3 electric wheelchair but the batteries are dead. I don’t want to pay 0+ for new ones, is there any chance to use a portable jump starter for cars to try and start them up?

And I am having a tough time deciding which one would be best to invest in. [Back Story] See, my grandparents are pretty loaded when it comes to money, and well, my family took advantage of that….. My brother had busted one of my parents cars pretty substantially when learning to drive, and they offered (and did) to pay for the repairs. Needless to say, they told me that they would be willing to give me that same amount (,400), only instead to purchase a car. And so, I thought investing in a moped would be a good idea (commuting to work, maybe college soon).

I did some (be it great, that is not up to me to say) research and came up with a few results that peaked my interests. Thus my coming here; I would like the input from the real enthusiasts, the people who know what I obviously do not.

8675309; That’s kind of funny, I actually did some more research after my ignorant post and found a few of those scooters (I have been looking at Piaggios for quite some time, particularly the MP3 400) and thought them to be quite a better deal considering they’re well known brands.

There is a Ferrari everything. Even a Ferrari segway. It seems to me that they cheapen their prestigious brand with cheap crap. They should just make small models of their cars and perhaps the odd watch, but thats it.

There must be something better than a pedal bike. To replace cars, is there anything other than a typical bike that is man powered in some better way? Perhaps the Segway should make a comeback.

I’m trying to figure out something that doesn’t make sence about insuring multiple vehicles.

So I already own a car, and two motorcycles, plus I have my GF’s car on my policy for the multi car discount. I’ve shopped around LOTS, and have found the cheapest insurance I can find.

Heres the thing, I want to also buy a truck. Now I’ve called all around for quotes, but they all say the same thing. Basically my truck will cost just as much to insure as my car. Including paying full liability insurance on both vehicles.

This doesn’t make sence to me. Why do I need to pay full price for liability coverage for both of them, when obviously I can only drive one at a time? What if I were to have 4 cars? I’d have to pay full price for all of them even though I’d only be driving one at a time?

The way I see it, it shouldn’t cost any more for liability on a second or third vehicle. A little for comprehensive maybe in case one was broken into or something, but why should I pay full price for multiple vehicles I can’t possibly even use all at once.

Is there any sort of insurance company out there that does things differently? Any way I can basically just pay one reasonable price that covers whatever vehicle I decide to drive?
