as with cars, it all determines on these factors: Insurance companies could not care about type of bikes as they are going by a list given to them by companies that do research for them. They are broken down by model, make and year (so if you do a rquest on a Honda CBR 600 F2 then the insurance quote is based on that information): The older the bike doesn’t necessarily mean lower rates;
These determine insurance rates:
type of coverage (full? minimum required by state law)
1) make and model of bike
2) year
3) your driving record
4) your age group
5) property crime in your area
6) property crime that is involved with your bike (is that particular model stolen alot).
7) Credit rating
9) deductible ($250? $500? $1000)
When I was 19 I bought a brand new GSXR750.
I should have checked first.
My insurance company that had covered it’s predecessors, a CB125. RD350, and even a GPz550 would not cover my Gixxer.
The cheapest I could find was $150 mo. That was 20 years ago.
I’ve bought my bikes outright since then and carried only liability. My Bandit cost me $150 a YEAR.
