Moped stolen, how does the insurance claim work?
My moped was stolen this morning, I had it insured with Statefarm but I don’t know what’s supposed to happen now. I filed the claim this morning after doing the police report. Can Statefarm deny my claim for any reason? Also, when Statefarm pays me will it be for what it’s worth or what I paid for it? This whole situation is so stressful, I’d appreciate a simple answer and hopefully a nice one. For extra credit, maybe someone can answer why a person would even steal a 50cc moped out of a parking lot with much nicer cars.
Theft claims take longer than most to investigate because fraud is so common. They will pay the actual cash value of your moped minus any applicable deductible.
Mopeds are often stolen because of their size – they are easy to conceal.
Sorry this happened to you.
Good luck.
