Legally yes you can get a job as a pizza delivery guy at 17.

There's a place not 10 mins from me hiring anybody with a moped right now regardless of age.

The problem you might have is getting bike insurance for the job. You need to tell your insurance company that you will be using the bike for work and that will put your premiums right up.

You could be looking at around £600 a year for the insurance, maybe more.

To answer your other questions...

Learning to ride a moped can take anything from a few days to a couple of months. It depends on your abilities. I would get as much experience as possible on the road though before I went and got a job delivering pizzas on a moped.

A moped can cost anything from a couple of hundred quid to around a 1000. For work purposes you want to spend as much as you can afford because you want something reliable that aint gonna break down every 5 minutes.

Moped tax is currently £15 a year and it costs around £25 a year for the MOT unless your bike is brand new, then you don't need an MOT for 3 years.
