Is there any user friendly and cheap motorcycles out there?
Hi, I’m 17 years old and looking to get a motorcycle.
I have good grades and will only drive a motorcycle when the "conditions" are right. Like weather, cars on the road Sat. Sun. which has less cars, and going to school and to work.
I don’t care if I "die" and I’m not afraid to die.
I have ,000 saved up in the bank and would like to buy a Ninja 250 for ,500 -2008. Plus 0 for gear and classes.
I will get my driver’s license this December and will take the MSD courses in spring of 2010.
I can’t find any used or cheap ninja 250′s around my area and I think I would rather go stright to the dealer rather then the seller because of too much red tape and work.
I think my insurance will be cheaper because I will ride only to school and work and I have "good" grades. Even though I am young.
SO, is there any place I can find any user friendly bikes or cheap ninja 250′s?
For a used bike you can look at craigslist, the dealers, classifeds, etc.
I highly suggest a used bike.
Unfortunately a new rider is much more likely to be involved in a motorcycle accident than an experienced rider. Not saying it’ll be your fault, just a fact. I hate to see someone who arrears responsible pay a large amount of $$ on a new bike only to be knocked off it by a car accidentally merging into you because "I didn’t even see him."
The Ninja 250 is an excellent choice for a first bike, but there are others to consider.
Well, congrats on your saving money and wanting to buy your first bike. The ninja 250 is a good choice. Bullet proof engine, reliability and the stylish, no matter if you get the older version or the redesigned 2008 or 2009 models.
With $7000 saved up you will be able to go buy one direct, without any financing involved. Good, because you will only need to purchase liability insurance-the cheapest of the insurances because it does not pay for any damage to you or your machine-only damage that you and your machine do to someone elses property. If you decide to get full coverage, it does not matter much how little you intend on riding the bike, the insurance will easily cost a young male about the same per year as what the bike did.

means that you don’t belong on a motorcycle.
Fear is what keeps you alive out there.
Taking the safety course before insuring your bike will lower your rates. Paying for the bike in full allows lower coverage which again drops your rates.
Any of the 250cc bikes out there would make excellent starters but you’ll want to look for used bikes to find the cheapest deals. Some models you can look at are the Honda Rebel, Yamaha Virago and of course the Ninja 250.
For a new rider the older the better(in case you drop it like I did). If you care about looks though go for the 2008 Ninja. There is a community built around this bike which you may find helpful in your decision at ninja250.org
Even trying to ride in only good conditions you sometimes end up in the muck, be prepared by adding a rain jacket and pants to your gear list.
