No. Anyone who are in a relationship should have 4 accounts. A joint account to pay bills/for the home. Two separate accounts, one for you and one for the other. And a separate one just for an emergency. So when the sh*t hits the fan, you have that one for you to start over with.
This is separate from a retirement plan. This is when you two break up, you have to split the joint account and your own account and, the last (4th) account for your start up. A new place, materialistic things for your new place…..things like that.
