Get it. ABS would definitely be useful on a motorcycle or scooter. It has nothing to do with the cc size and power of the engine, but it has everything to do with braking. Most bikes end up going the same speeds, and need to slow down at the same rates, regardless.
ABS is an antilock braking system, which intermittently releases the brake every time it locks up. Because of this, the wheels don’t go into a full skid, but stay closest to maximum braking capacity. That allows you traction, and the ability to steer the bike, even under hardest braking, which is almost the equivalent of staying up and not going down. Usually a two wheeled vehicle is out of control and becomes crossed up when one of the wheels skids and loses traction, and that means the bike is pointed in a wrong direction other than it and the rider are going. That means you can no longer brake at all, and are also going to go down fast, unless you are very skilled enough to recover, which is unlikely. (If you are asking this question, you definitely are not.) Hardly anyone is, unless they do alot of riding, especially on offroad and wet conditions, and that is why it first started showing up on some of the best bikes for the best riders to use. And that was way after it came out in F1 racing about twenty years ago.
Is it a must? No, but even without you saying how much it is, the ABS saving you just one time will pay for itself in bike damage alone, let alone doctor’s bills, pain, work lost, or anything worse. You will undoubtedly be learning to ride, be riding in wet conditions, going highway speeds, etc., and be doing all of that while being cut off by cars, dodging things in the road, and other surprise situations, so yes, definitely get the ABS. Chances of survival and chances to avoid an accident go way up with the ability to slow down when needed,. With ABS, you will not as easily lose your braking ability, and therefore can apply the brakes more effectively and longer under any conditions. It’s worth it.
Depends on if your’e worried about your front wheel locking up on slick roads or not.If you are then I’d say yea.
you dont need it. it will cost more than the bike is worth. just get good brakes and slow down until you are ready to buy a real bike.
It is not economically feasible to add ABS to a motorcycle that does not have ABS. Your cheapest route will be to buy a vehicle with factory ABS brakes.
I have ABS brakes and once or twice they have come quite useful.
