There are some postal carriers making use of the Segway instead of walking their routes. The use of the Segway makes trips between mailboxes quicker and saves wear and tear on the postal carrier’s body through less walking and not having to carry the mailbag over his shoulder.
Certain metropolitan police departments make use of the Segway in highly pedestrian areas. Former footcops can stand above a crowd now, more easily picking out pockets of disturbance. Pursuits can be made without tiring the officer, so that when the perpetrator forces the officer off the Segway, while the officer is fresh, the perp has been running and is tired, giving the officer a physical advantage. Citizens can also easily identify a policeman perched above the crowd on a Segway, rather than looking through crowds of people.
Actually very little.
And they talked about how it was gonna change the world.
The ones who can afford it, the lazy become even lazier, and the not so lazy became lazy anyway.
