I have a scooter I’ve just taken it bck 2 the garage with a blocked exhaust 6 mnths old?
I know it shouldn’t b doing it this I rely on this scooter for mobility took me a week to convince them something was wrong had to get a recovery firm in the end to take it to them.
Just wondered if there could b an underlying fault as this is the 2nd time it’s happened any ideas?
the oil and gas are added in seperate containers with an automatic mixer underneath
shouldn’t have caused blockages though should it? I use a decent oil and the correct octane for the gas.
sorry meant 2 add it’s a 2 stroke liquid cooled scooter
and the cam on it has come loose causing loss of power any ideas?
Thanks it’s the cam end that’s failed it’s actually loose which has caused all my trouble I’ve had a Ludix before ie the classic just as much trouble don’t know what Peugeot r thinking I do use a synthetic oil the one they reccomennd in their shop manual! yr of make 2007! 50cc liq cooled ans yes it does smoke but only when cold! ok after few mins of riding.
Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
Some 2 strokes – the oil pump is adjustable.
Use quality brand name 2 cycle oil made for motorcycles.
Don’t use the crap you can buy at Walmart or gas stations.
Are you sure it,s a blocked exhaust as that,s not very common ,certainly not on a 6 months old vehicle perhaps there is some other problem
2 stroke? – do you mix oil and gas?
Or is it a 4 stroke?
That would help a lot.
A blocked exhaust is very common on these bikes, here’s the problem:
You have to use SYNTHETIC 2 stroke oill in them, even if it doesn’t mention it. The combustion of the regular 2 stroke oil makes too much soot, worse if you used 30 weight, it would block up in a couple of weeks!
Your oil injector could be set to put too much oil in the fuel, and you can tell that by how often you have to clean the plug. If there is too much oil (after changing to synthetic) the plug will be wet with oil when inspected. Also, your bike will be smoking a lot.
This was a very common problem with mopeds of the 70′s, because people would mix too much oil (or the wrong oil, which I suspect is your problem) with the fuel.

Peugot Blasters are Nice scooters,,
and are Very High Performance Scooters.
But they are known Troublemakers.
They experience faults which should not happen.
"Repairs" especially when done under warranty using Original Parts,,,
simply reset the clock on "CountDown to Failure" so to speak.
It’s a matter of a Trouble Prone Part which exhibits a High failure rate,,,being replaced with another of exact same thing.
Blasters are "Enthusiasts’ Scooters",,,
not "Basic Transportation" models.
And they’re constructed to be Competitively Priced.
Hi-Performance & Economically Constructed are "Opposites".
The TradeOff is usually Reliability,,,and will require Abnormally High Maintenance and Repair.
I’m NOT in any way happy to tell you these things.
Somebody should though.
And I seriously suspect You are increasingly coming to the realization yourself.
If not by now,,,another 6 months will make it all quite apparent.
Here’s some Suggestions You may want to consider:
#1,,,MONITOR your bike’s repair incidence.
If it is simply Too Frequent—whether Minor or Major,,,,
My OPINION is that it would be wise to consider a Different Scoot.
Particularly since You rely upon Your bike so heavily.
That may seem Drastic,,,,but a More Reliable,Trouble Free Model will be like a breath of Fresh Air.
What’s most unfortunate is that You wont likely find any 50cc which offers the Performance of your Blaster
#2) To SOME Folks—this is a Joy.
To OTHERS,,,it’s the LEAST Desirable thing.
Im reffering to,,"Learn How to Work on it Yourself"
Get a Shop Manual,,
and a basic Tool Set,,
and Develop a "Support Group"as best You can—Folks you can get Info,Help,Ideas from.
Both Online,,,and LOCALLY
Actually,,Anyone with Any sort of bike should adopt SOME DEGREE of this practice.
Your Peugot WILL need More Attention than Normal.
Perhaps You have friends who can either Help You learn & Do,,,
Or who may do the work for You,, without resorting to Dealership/Bike Shoppe services everytime the bikes needs work.
One advantage is,,,any skills and knowledge you’d gain can carry forward the rest of your life,,,and be applied to ANYTHING You may be driving/riding in the Future
So as much as it would ease the Cost & Troubles of Ownership,,,
It’s perhaps even Greater of a Good Investment in YOURSELF to learn how to "Do It Yourself".
Even if You Dont do the actual Hands-On Yourself,,
You would Still KNOW the technicalities,procedures,,Troubleshooting etc.
You’d be a Better,More Informed Consumer when taking it to a Shoppe.
And,,You’d have a better awareness to perhaps spot/sense problems earlier in their occurence

But it IS a Positive thing,,,and works to help on Lots of Levels

Things like the Exhaust situation.
That’s most likely a MECHANICAL failure.
Not merely the typical Carbon/Coke buildup common in 2 cycle engines.
Unless Peugot Replaces it with an Updated service part,,
You can almost Expect a recurrence.
And at some point Warranty Will expire,,,leaving any possible Future Repair expense upon You.
Your options are few ,but clear.
A)Replace it with an Aftermarket Exhaust,,,,in the event that replacement at YOUR expenses becomes necessary
B) "Surgery",,,,have someone competent to Modify the original pipe.
That may be a simple reinforcement in a few spots,,
Or a major MakeOver,,
or an "upgrade" to a higher performance pipe.
Depending upon How & Where the pipe’s Failing,,,
Pipe Surgery Can be a very economical and effective solution to a reliable exhaust system.
I appologize for what sounds even to me,,a Bleak outlook about your bike.
I Dont intend it that way,,and actually it’s not meant as such.
Demanding -of-Attention is a better way to understand it,,,almost could say "Maintenance Intensive".
I’m NOT at ALL whatsoever implying it’s simply Doomed Junk.
Some folks dont Mind that,,the extra effort of ownership.
Others actually LIKE to piddle around with wrenches on their bikes,,
Yet Others cannot tolerate such inconveniences,,,or have No Desire or willingness to.
Realize that on SOME BIKES,,,,,that’s a Matter of PERSONAL CHOICE.
The Bike could not care less either way,,,beyond "Normal" maintenance.
But OTHER Bikes,,,The BIKE’S NATURE supercedes the Owner’s prefferences.
The Bike demands the attention in order to serve the owner well.
Your Lil’ Peugot leans in That direction,,,they Need the extra attention.
And things like Exhaust Sytem failure really require "extra-ordinary" efforts to actually Solve the situation for once and all
