A moped, by definition, must be less than 50cc and travel no more than 30 mph on level ground. Therefore, if you have a 50cc bike, it is considered a motorcycle, you must have a driver’s license, plates, and insurance.
In many states mopeds are legally limited to 30 mph. Some machines will actually reach this speed on level ground.
Or, if you ride one out of the back of a C130 cargo plane at 30,000 feet, you will reach 200 mph before you crash – I mean land.
I weigh about the same as you. I have a moped. Top speed on mine is 30mph and mine will do it with me on it, on level ground anyway! lol Mine is an older Yamaha QT 50.
