Can you jump start a wheelchair battery?

I have an Invacare Storm TDX3 electric wheelchair but the batteries are dead. I don’t want to pay 0+ for new ones, is there any chance to use a portable jump starter for cars to try and start them up?
Nope. You need new batteries.
NO…HELL NO.but u can get a trickle charger and charge them…..
are they sealed batteries?? most likely they are if not u can change acid
if u hook a battery charger to the batteries u can and will have and explosion….so don’t do it….
Have battery’s checked to see if can be recharged if not you will need to replace. Kragens or others can test battery’s for free as well as charge them. Jump start, never happen!

You can’t jump start a battery. You can take energy out, and you can put energy in. If the batteries are no longer holding a charge, than unfortunately nothing you can do will restore their energy holding capacity. However, you can probably find a pack of sealed lead-acid batteries for much less than $700 that will fit in the battery compartment. Just match the voltage exactly, and match the capacity (in AH) as close as you can. Going over on capacity will make it run longer between charges, and going under will make it run out quicker.
contact first interstate this is a battery company, among many types of batteries they make ones for wheelchairs, you should be able to check online and find batteries that work fine for a lot less than seven hundred bucks, often times these wheelchair companies, add enormous unnecessary fees to things that are not that expensive. I have used first interstate batteries in a wheel chair for 20 years, and had few problems, you should be able to get them installed, often times there is a local company that carries the green interstate battery sign and carries them in stock, you may have to order yours, but I bet it will not take long. IN ANSWER to your question, you need new battieries, once yours no longer charge up, there is nothing you can do, dead, is dead for a battery.
