yes they are made here, but showa suspension is from japan, same with dunlop ties, not usa. both my suzuki motocross bikes have showa forks and dunlops tires both made in japan. and delphi closed their U.S. plants and only has them overseas now. i dont think Rek t has reliable info.

Bluff Mike is right about the Honda. My 1993 FLHT is now obsolete I was informed by my local Harley dealer and they no longer carry parts for it. For a company who blows all the hot air about tradition and heritage, a ’93 model should not be obsolete.

My ex-hubby drove a Harley Davidson motorcycle but, before
that drove a black Ford, Escort that he had an accident in
and he had to quit driving for awhile. He is a safe driver but,
they thought he had been drinking, somewhat. He proved to
them that he hadnot. He did get to keep his Driver’s License.
But, he has to be off his medication to drive, again what
    about a motorcycle?

Not entirely. A few years ago, they were very close to being "Assembled in USA" because of the percentage of overseas parts used.\
Hondas made in Ohio, on the other hand have more USA parts than HD.

Mine was built in York, PA.
On the CVO line. (Custom Vehicle Operations)

Just like our U.S. made cars, some parts come from other places.

(Dunlops are made around the world!)

if you count up all the part numbers on a harley 80% are american made and 20% are foreign not only jap but other countrys also.
thay are all put together in the U.S.

v-rods are a difrent % rating but i forgot it.

Yes and if you care to see them made you can go to York Pennsylvania and take a tour of that factory. There are other factories in the USA, but I am not sure what their tour policy is. The York factory is especially tour friendly, its open all day and you need no appointment. There is a large souvenir shop and exhibits in addition to the tour.

This is not a cheap 5 cent tour. You will be outfitted with safety glasses and will be out on the factory floor. Wear cool clothing as the factory is not air conditioned in the summer.

Many of the businesses in the area make parts for Harley and they buy lots of equipment from USA vendors. One of the reasons the can afford to pay more for American made parts is that Harley has very strong brand loyalty and people will pay more for the product. Hey, if its not a Harley, why would you buy it?

Most parts are. Some aren’t. The bigger question is, how much of the company is owned by foreign investors.

Cheap Electric Scooters

With the rising costs of gas all over the world, buying a cheap electric motor scooter could be a great way to save money on your transportation.
But finding a good motor scooter takes some investigation and research first. The engines are rated by the output of watts. How your scooter will handle certain loads and terrain will depend on the rating.
The electric scooters are belt or chain driven, unless they are direct drive.
They are battery powered and many scooter brands come with two or three batteries. For the most part, the power rating of an electric motor scooter is determined by the power and by the quality of the batteries that are used. Factors such as rough road or terrain, tire pressure and heavy riders or loads can cause the battery charge to be drained more quickly.
Finding a good quality electric motor scooter that fits into your budget should not be too hard. With that said, you should expect to spend at least $500 to $700 or $800 on a good scooter. This may sound like a lot of money but you will also be saving a lot of money on fuel with your electric scooter.
You can also check the auctions and local papers and places like craigslist for scooters being sold online locally.
You may just get lucky and find a scooter being sold by someone who just can't make the payments or for some other reason, needs to sell it.
Also try to find out as much as you possibly can about the used scooters history. If it has been repaired and what was the extent of the repairs or if parts have been replaced over the years. Just like buying an automobile, make sure you check out the history of the scooter and find out as much as possible about any prior damage or repairs.
