So is stupidity. You can spout off and being a mental idgit, you are not held to the same standard as someone more articulate and bright (oh, and fat), such as myself. You couldn’t have an intellectual duel with with me and I probably can’t run a mile as quickly as you. We’re all different and I’m more than OK with that.
you know they also get special handicap parking just for being fat?
but most places dont have expectant mother/mothers with small children parking? but fat people get special parking? its ridiculous.
If the old lady was going for it she was wrong to cut her off. She should have waited.
Couldn’t agree with you more. I am seriously disgusted by fat sweaty hungry people. Now…if I find out their reasoning and somehow its out of their control then obviously i wouldn’t hold it against them. But, since not all fat people owe ME an explanation…i just think they all can’t stay outta the kitchen.
wtf i was taught to respect elders idk about that fat bitch.
My husband was born with "fat genes" and remains fat no matter how much he attempts to lose weight. He is more active than I am, yet he is considered morbidly – super obese fluctuating between 330 – 350 lbs. at a height of 5’8". He cannot help it. You do not know if the woman you met can help her weight. My husband has suffered a mild stroke through no fault of his own, from which he recovered. He cannot really run and he automatically risks further health problems, but you know what? He’s my hero. He is the kindest, smartest, most amazing and loving man I know and a wonderful father. We are a team; I have my own weaknesses that he can make up for and the reverse also applies.
Yes, fat is a handicap. The younger woman you met was being rude to cut off the elderly woman, but both physically deserve motorized scooters. I am sure the store had more than one scooter, and if it didn’t, then it’s a pathetic excuse for a store.
My husband does not use motorized scooters, but I did when in a multiple pregnancy and it is quite possible that he will have to in ten-twenty years when his metabolism decreases all the more. I love him dearly and do not want to see him in pain caused by his physical condition or in emotional pain (that he pretends doesn’t exist, but those who love him can sense his heart drop, so to speak) caused by self-righteous people.
Why did you post this story? You really didn’t ask a question. You basically just ranted… This goes on your blog more than Yahoo Answers…
Edit:
If your second edit was for me, he could use a wheelchair, but he chooses not to because it is not necessary for him. He can’t run, but he can walk through stores, and he makes a point to exercise as much as he can because he actually wants to be as healthy as he can.
YES! Being heavy can and is a handicap for some. Research has shown that a reduction in Leptin production has a great effect on a persons size.
Here is a link if any would like to do a little reading on it.
I actually wrote a pamphlet on the subject a few years ago. Some very interesting and helpful studies have been done on the importance of Leptin.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leptin
The effects of leptin were observed by studying mutant obese mice that arose at random within a mouse colony at the Jackson Laboratory in 1950.[3] These mice were massively obese and excessively voracious. Ultimately, several strains of laboratory mice have been found to be homozygous for single-gene mutations that causes them to become grossly obese, and they fall into two classes: "ob/ob", those having mutations in the gene for the protein hormone leptin, and "db/db", those having mutations in the gene that encodes the receptor for leptin. When ob/ob mice are treated with injections of leptin they lose their excess fat and return to normal body weight.
Leptin itself was discovered in 1994 by Jeffrey M. Friedman and colleagues at the Rockefeller University through the study of such mice.[4]
How can you judge her when you don’t even know her just because she is fat? How do you know that she isn’t actually handicapped and her walking has nothing to do with her weight…she might be having issues where she can’t exercise like you can…Don’t judge people’s disabilities based on what you see. I was born with spina bifida and can’t walk much and I always get rants by people like you who don’t think I look handicapped enough. I think the lady was rude for cutting off the older woman to get to the scooter but most stores have more than one scooter anyways and it was no reason for you to judge her like you did.
