Yes its legal and the insurance would be very cheap ! It would help a little more if you gave your age and what make and model you are going to buy ?

Yes it is legal and insurance will be around 200 quid for third party (depending on where you live)

No problem to ride it on the road !
Insurance for a 22yo with no points on your license would be between £100-130 for third party. (bennets do some good deals but shop around)

if you shop around lots of dealers are offering free insurance as a come-on for moped and small scooters, running costs are very minimal, even if you have to buy insurance it wont be expensive and you should be getting over 100 mpg.
