What's up with the bike helmet craze these days?

When my parents were kids, they never wore helmets when riding their bikes. But nowadays most parents make their kids wear them. I’m 17, and I don’t wear one anymore, but my parents made me when I was younger. I hated that thing. It was so uncomfortable and awkward. Are these things really necessary, or is it a result of media hype?
Nobody wore them in their days (80′s).

where can you ride mini bikes/pocket bikes? HELP!!!?

In KY: What are the requirements for a 150cc moped?

Specifically I am asking if you need a driver’s license or just a moped license, and would a 150cc moped require some sort of vehicle insurance?
If it makes any difference (which I don’t believe it does as speed is tied in with cc’s) the moped goes 60-70mpg.
And again, this is for the state of Kentucky.

I have a used 2008 water cooled roketa. i dont know anything but how to ride them. whats the pre inspection process before riding? also is it okay to go above 45mph during the break in period. ive got about 850 miles on it and need to go above speeds of 45mph on the freeway is that okay?

Assume the helmet is in Mint condition. Just want an approx. value and I can’t find any info on this helmet anywhere on the net!!! So maybe there will be a cool motorcycle enthusiast out there that might have an idea!

I have a solar panel with the following specs:

Material: Monocrystalline

PM: 2w

Voc: 22.28 V

Isc: 0.15 A

Vmp: 18V

Imp: 0.14 A

Size: 14.9cm x 15.5cm

Gross weight: 0.3 kgs

Max system Voltage: 1000v

and I want to know if I can use that solar panel to charge a 7 amp, 12 volt electric wheelchir battery or if I have to buy another kind. It is for use on a blackout to charge my laptop, and stuff. I have a dc meter and input, but do I need an inverter? Thanks. I would appreciate it if anyone could answer any part of this question.

Harley Davidson – Long but very good!?

The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died

And went to heaven. At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur. "Since you’ve

been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your

reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want to in heaven."

Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, "I want to hang out

With God."

St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God.

God recognized Arthur and commented, "Okay, so you were the one who

Invented the Harley-Davidson motorcycle?"

Arthur said, "Yeah, that’s me…."

God commented: "Well, what’s the big deal in inventing something that’s

pretty unstable makes noise and pollution and can’t run without a road?"

Arthur was apparently embarrassed, but finally spoke, "Excuse me, but

aren’t you the inventor of woman?" God said, "Ah, yes."

"Well," said Arthur, "professional to professional, you have some major

design flaws in your invention:

1. There’s too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusion

2. It chatters constantly at high speeds

3. Most rear ends are too soft and wobble too much

4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust

5. The maintenance costs are outrageous!!!!

"Hmm, you may have some good points there," replied God, "hold on."

God went to his Celestial supercomputer, typed in a few words and waited

for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.

"Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed," God said to Arthur,

"but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours."

I have solved this problem by pouring gas in the carb. But Id like to know what is wrong with it.

I have been looking to buy a scooter/moped for a while. I needed it to get to work and back because I am having trouble with the high price of gas. A few days ago I found someone (locally) selling a preowned 2006 150cc scooter for 0, which is a reasonable price sine this particular scooter only runs about 7 or 8 hundred brand new. I wanted this scooter because I had researched scooters and I knew that 150cc should go 50 to 65mph, which is fast enough to drive on the roads but not too fast for me to handle. When I went to look at the scooter the only people present were the seller, me, my husband and my brother. The seller was asked 3 times (by each one of us) if there was anything wrong with the scooter and all 3 times the seller said no. I test drove the scooter, but not being used to riding 2 wheeled vehicles, I didn’t drive it fast, I only went about 25-30 down the road the seller lived on. Everything seemed to be in order so the seller signed the title and I paid the 0. I had it for about 48 hours before I felt comfortable enough to get it above 30mph, and to my shock, it wouldn’t go above 30mph! When I tried to get the speed up, it would bog down. I tried to run it wide open and nothing would happen, it would just go slower and slower. I took the scooter to the local Yamaha sales and service center and had it looked at. They said the motor has gone bad (busted seals and worn mounts and more). I asked the mechanic if this could have happened in the few days that I have had the vehicle and he said absolutely not, it takes time for a motor to ware out. So I contacted the seller, and you can pretty much guess the rest. The seller said that the scooter ran fine when they had and they weren’t giving me my money back. So that’s the whole story. What do you all think? Can I take them to court over a scooter? Do I have a case?
I have done some further investigating and discovered that since 150cc scooters/mopeds are titled, registered and insured they are covered under my stated lemonlaw. Now I just have to find out what that is!

Can you say Coyote and Roadrunner show?
