the moped i have only has one mirror fitting, is it legal to drive? its a piaggio zip 50 2t, as you can see this model only allows for one mirror.

This is a very personal question, and I’m terribly nervous and embarrassed about asking it, but it is an issue that I can’t bring myself to talk about with my friends or family, so I figure addressing it anonymously and getting opinions from objective strangers might be a good way. I am a female in my 20s and I have reasonably severe Cerebral Palsy – spastic quadriplegia. It hasn’t affected my speech, senses or intellect or cognitive abilities at all (I am currently studying at university) but all four of my limbs are affected, hence the term quadriplegia, and I can no longer weight bear. I use an electric wheelchair almost all the time. I know that in a lot of ways I am luckier than a lot of people; cerebral palsy is a non progressive disability and it doesn’t kill you, and of course I do have my intellect and the opportunity to study, but sometimes my life seems so painful and futile that I don’t know how I’m going to get through the rest of it.

You see, I have always known that my cerebral palsy would not go away or spontaneously get better, but I don’t ever think I ever fully grasped what that meant. I think I always thought, somewhere deep down, that I would outgrow it somehow. When I picture myself in my mind’s eye I’m never in the chair or showing any symptoms at all, I’m always up and walking around freely like any average person. When I look in the mirror and see myself in the wheelchair it’s like a slap in the face.

The hardest thing of all is this: ever since I was little, I have always loved children. Truth be told, I would give up everything else in the world including uni, for a chance at a husband and a family. It’s what I’ve always always wanted. But I know it is pretty much impossible for that to happen for me. I mean a wheelchair, particulary an electric one, is not exactly attractive or sexy, and of course I am restricted physically, and need tons of help with daily tasks, so I can hardly expect any man to love me, and even if a miracle of divine proportions occurred, and someone did love me. how can I tie him down, knowing all he’ll have to sacrifice? I mean I know that people with disabilities do have relationships, but I’ve never heard of it happening to someone as as severely affected as me, or if it does, the disability occurs when they’re already in a relationship.

So my question is, how do go through life, knowing that my dearest dream will never come true, and knowing that nothing can ever change that, all the time watching all my friends fall in love and get married and have children? At the moment, my life just fills me with despair

I’m trying to find out what model moped that is 50CC is the fastest. I just purchased a Roketa Bahama 50 as the advertised top mph was 40, sadly that is not true at all, it’s more like 30, which sux. I’m thinking about having some modifications done to it but before I do that I may just return it and buy a new one, can anyone help with my decision?

Again PWD’s ONLY and lots of answers please. Mine is about a two…I don’t drive. I have a heavy duty electric wheelchair because I can’t operate a manual one with one hand. Manual wheelchairs are easy to manipulate and store in the backs of cars, but as I said manual wheelchairs aren’t a solution as I only have use of one hand. Question(s) would you allow one of your non-disabled friends to push you if it meant you could have a more open social life at the expense of your independence? I want to hear your opinions. Also, do the manufacturers of electric wheelchairs take into account that the kids (and adults) who have serious congential (or acquired) physical disabilities (quadraplegia and the like) desire to have active social lives in the least restrictive way possible with their "normal" (TAB) friends? My answer is a big fat f***ing No! as it stands I’d conjecture every transit system only goes as far it "home" city or county. How are your dealings with transit systems (if you
crap it put it in "business and finance" is their a Person’s with Disabilities category or not?

I think Chicago would be pretty accessible? What about other cities? I need some literature and other stuff on disability and travel and disabilities and the accessibility of different places? Online papers or books doesn’t matters keep in mind I can’t buy online because I don’t have a credit/debit card and my parents are afraid of security risks…whatever I just need information on social/living options for people with disabilities. i need a cheap motorbike like 1000- 2000 if at all possible!! i know bikes this cheap exist but any1 know of any shops or good sites were i might find bikes this cheap , also trying to avoid buying a scooter , i cant get a job without my own transport and have very limited money. anyone got any ideas cheers or even places that offer short term financeing like 6 months or somthing the i cud pay more for the bike cheers ,,jonny c

i am planning to make an electric scooter, and i am interrested in converting the SYM Fiddle II, but i wont be needing the engine. does anyone think or know if i could get a new scooter without a motor? like not have them take the motor out at the store, but have them order one without an engine? and please dont say "the pride of the SYM company is in their engines!", cuz the entire scooter is nice and inexpensive! oh and also dont tell me to get a used one. if i cant get a new one i will, so just answer the question please! thanks alot!!

there is a kid on my street With a house by my friends and we ride our scooters there and me and him are enimies so he said the side walk there was his so my friend looked up and he can only do that if he owns sidewalk rights but we dont know if he does own the rights. can some one tellme where i can check.
