hello, today i bought a E-Scooter from my neighbor for 20 dollars, nothing very bad with it, still runs well, as iv seen it being riden around by his kid. now the only issue is that it needs a new battery. no thats not my question. Its an electric scooter, in its current form it cant drive far with the bad battery and with my size. I have heard about people modding their mopeds and scooters with gas engines rather than electric motors. I intend to invest in a cheap engine, maybe from a moped or somethin. Whats my best avenue, should i get a stronger electric motor or a gas type. this scooter may become a means to get around and id want something nice and fast if possible, plus i plan on updating its cheapo gauges with more accurate ones.

if any of you have done something similar, please give me advice.

A few months ago, my brother purchased a Motor Scooter to drive back and forth to work. However he moved and is no longer able to use it. He asked my husband and I to store it at our house because we have a shed he also told us that we could drive it whenever we wanted. We told him no problem and we currently have it here. Well just recently he asked us if we wanted to buy it from him, since he no longer has any use for it. He was told by the dealer he bought it from, BRAND NEW, that here in Joplin, MO where we live, it does not have to be licensed, the person driving does not have to have a drivers licesence, nor does it have to be insured, and it is street legal, how much of that is true? My husband doesn’t have a license so this really would be a godsend to us to help us save on gas. If he truly can drive it without any of those things. Also anyone know the helmet laws in MO. I recently bought a new (new to me, but used) scooter. Is there anything special I should know about the batteries?? This was originally a 50cc but it was upgraded to a 70cc. Can I buy any brand battery or in a case like this would it be best to go back to the dealer or original manufacturer? I really want to stay on top of the maintenance of the scooter (it is great), but the manual is in Italian and I don’t speak it.

I recently moved into a house where the former owner did not take much of their stuff with them. Now I have possession of a lot of junk, including a fairly new Boreem scooter, problem is, there is no key. It is electric and seems close to brand new, the owners manual was found with it. If anyone knows if it is possible to order a new key, or re key the scooter, please let me know. I live in Indianapolis, IN if that helps.

I have a suspended drivers license. The SOS says that if you are suspended you can’t drive a motor scooter/moped. My question is have ever heard of anyone being pulled over on a motor scooter and getting in trouble for driving on a suspended. I had heard that if you are under 50cc you didn’t need a license but that must not apply if you have been suspended.

What do you all think, worth the risk? Are cops really concerned about moped drivers and whether they are licensed. Have you ever seen a moped pulled over?
