i am lookin into gettin a scooter (50cc) and wud like to know if i have to have insurance for it, as a legal requirement, and if so can i become a named driver on my parents car insurance. im goin to get a fairly cheap old scooter to start with?

I'm about to move to Jacksonville from GA and I know here if you have a <50cc motor-scooter you don't need a motorcycle permit, license, or insurance. Is it the same for FL?

Also, would Jax be a good city to get around by scooter or should I just stick to a bicycle or public transit? (I can't afford a car.)

I recently had my driver's license suspended and have been looking for alternate modes of transportation. I have been looking at motor scooters and have heard from several people about the laws regarding their legality and the qualifications to operate them. To my understanding it is legal to drive a motor scooter that is approved by the GADOT as long as it is 49CC or under without a license. I need to find out exactly what the laws are because an arrest would be my life! Thanks for all responses in advance

In Maryland motor scooters are all over the streets and highways, no insurance, tags..etc. and no crash helmets. These scooters cause accidents, property damage and personal injuries without controlling laws such as apply to motorcycles.

I wanted to buy a scooter thats on sale for 899 and its an 06 model so they are trying to get rid of them.. but i wanted to see if i can get that any lower.. is there such thing as haggling at a scooter store?

I’m in high school. There are several kids that have scooter type vehicles and they ride them on the street. One kid told me that you do NOT need a license of any kind if your scooter is a 50CC engine. I am currently in Montgomery County, Maryland. Any knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated.

Buying the bike of ebay. Finding it very difficult to find cheap insurance it is a Baotian made in 2007 I'm 16 years old no motor convictions e.t.c I really need cheap insurance ? Any body with experience no the best for this scooter? Best answer to cheapest quote? Or general help. Thanks.
